GETTING INVOLVED EARLY

BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE

His decision years ago to run for office and seek a seat on the Westland City Council came from wanting to make a difference in how people's voices are heard. His love for the community is what drives him and his background and experience is what make him the best choice for Westland City Council. Jim Godbout looks at serving the public as an honor and wants to continue to serve the residents of Westland.

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. – Plato

An over 40 year resident, Jim Godbout started getting involved in community efforts shortly after moving to Westland when he married his wife Sande. He spent plenty of time volunteering with charities, service organizations and even with Rouge Rescue clean ups.

Jim attended Lawrence Technological University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and has gone on to complete Level 2 of the Michigan Municipal League's Elected Official Academy.
